Gas Leak Detection Service
Detecting a gas leak is crucial for safety since natural gas or propane leaks can pose serious health risks and fire hazards. Natural gas and propane have distinctive odours added to them (mercaptan or thiols) specifically to make leaks easier to detect. If you detect a strong sulphur-like or rotten egg odour in your home, it could indicate a gas leak. Check for signs of a gas leak, such as bubbles in water or dirt blowing from the ground, if the leak is outside.
If you suspect a leak and it’s safe to do so, check your gas meter. Note the reading, then wait a few hours without using any gas appliances. If the meter reading changes, it could indicate a leak.
